4CITY: Continuing Youth Basketball Through LearnOn

Learning comes in many forms, from traditional schools to online courses and even athletics. We're proud to say that LearnOn supports all learning. Curious proudly partners with community partners. Take 4CITY, a cause dear to the Curious team. Our CEO is a proud supporter (and coach) for the organization. The non-profit empowers Bay Area youth through community youth sports leagues. Due to Covid-19, they've transitioned their offerings from the court to players’ homes through LearnOn.

All 4CITY programs follow the 4C philosophy, relying on team-oriented basketball to teach players character, confidence, competitiveness, and community. In addition to providing top-notch basketball coaching and experiences for young players, 4CITY “also provides scholarships to those in need regardless of their ethnicity, identity, background, and ability.”

Each day, dozens of kids around and in the Bay Area log on through the LearnOn app and learn from one another. 4CITY’s league administration and coaching are run almost entirely by unpaid volunteers, who are often parents of current or former players.

This year, 4CITY is hosting 9 teams entirely on LearnOn. Coaches interact directly with players, modeling warm ups, drills, and shooting practices, and then providing specific feedback to players in real-time. Even through the screen, players can ask questions to coaches, and interact with one another through fun basketball-related challenges. Thanks to LearnOn, players simply log on through our app and focus on their athleticism.

4CITY’s program may look different this year, but its dedication to accessible community youth sports is stronger than ever, and we’re thrilled that LearnOn is part of this unique opportunity. LearnOn isn’t just for large corporations or after-school academia-- we’re dedicated to supporting those with limited resources, too, and pleased to do so. At Curious, we're proud to support our community as they navigate the Covid-19 pandemic. Our LearnOn platform ensures neither quality nor accessibility are sacrificed for our nonprofit partners.
