Our 100% Fun Guarantee

Camp should be fun. Learning should be fun. Camp Curious should be fun! That’s why we created the 100% Fun Guarantee. If your camper completes two full days of Camp Curious and is still telling you he/she isn’t having fun, then we’ll give you your money back. Just email us. Simple as that. The real question is why can’t we get one of these guarantees for everything else in life?

Our Camp Refund Policy

We understand that plans are up in the air this summer more than ever before. So we’ve created a generous 7-day Refund Policy to allow you as much flexibility as possible, while still giving us time to properly staff each week of camp. Refund requests will be honored up to 7 days before the first day of your purchased session, minus a $25 processing fee. Or you can apply 100% of your purchase price towards another Camp Curious session and pay no fee. Now that’s fair.

Camp Curious Supplemental Terms of Service

Last Updated: June 16, 2020

These Camp Curious Supplemental Terms of Use (“Terms”) are in addition to the Curious Terms of Use Agreement and Curious Privacy Policy. These Terms form a binding agreement between Curious.Com Incorporated (“Curious,” “we”) and you, as the parent of a virtual camp attendee (“Camper”). For the purposes of these terms, a “webcam” is a video camera on a mobile device or attached to a computer and the “Camp Curious App” is an application installed on an Apple iOS mobile device or a Google Android mobile device or accessed from a computer via a web browser at http://camp.curious.com/app.

 1.              Camp Curious Overview.  Camp Curious provides parents with a virtual “mother’s helper” level of child care. Our counselors lead Campers through fun and challenging activities guided by virtual instruction throughout the day. While our counselors will be constantly interacting with your Camper via webcam throughout the day (excluding lunch time, see below), we cannot ensure, for a variety of reasons, including a lack of physical presence, as well as Internet bandwidth and technical limitations, that our counselors will be able to monitor your Camper at all times. You are ultimately responsible for the safety and wellbeing of your Camper.

2.              Supervision. During each session (with the exception of lunch time), our counselors have the ability to see and interact with Camp Curious Campers when a Camper’s webcam is set up correctly and there is sufficient Internet bandwidth. However, we are not physically present with Campers, and our ability to monitor and supervise is therefore limited. We cannot ensure each Camper’s safety during camp activities. You must provide, and you remain responsible for providing, appropriate supervision for your Camper throughout the day.  While our counselors do their best to monitor Camper activity throughout each session (excluding lunches), we cannot guarantee that we will have eyes on each Camper at all times, even while a Camper is in the video frame. Our counselors may also be unable to see exactly what your Camper is doing while on screen, due to webcam setup and positioning, Internet bandwidth limitations, lighting, dust, glare, smudges or scratches on webcams, and other factors outside of our control. Further, our counselors are also unable to monitor activity happening off screen, or any other activity that may occur if your child exits the screen, turns off/unplugs their webcam or exits the Camp Curious App. If your Camper closes the Camp Curious App, or takes a break for longer than five minutes, one of our counselors will make a reasonable endeavor to contact you, though we cannot guarantee that they will do so in a timely manner. You are solely responsible for providing us with up-to-date and accurate contact information, and we will not be liable for any failure by you to do so. We are not an emergency or medical service provider, and we do not provide emergency or medical services.  If your Camper needs emergency help, Dial 911.

3.              Lunch. Lunch at Camp Curious includes the option for you and your Camper to prepare meals together at the instruction of one of our guest chefs. We are unable to supervise each Camper’s cooking from a distance. For Campers to have access to lunch time cooking instruction, parents must be present at the start of, and for the duration of the lunch preparation activities. While our counselors will do their best to ensure that you are present with your Camper at the start of the lunch hour, we will not be monitoring any Camper activity during the lunch hour. You are solely responsible for supervising your Camper during lunch preparation and consumption. You acknowledge and agree that Curious and its guest chefs do not know the medical or nutritional history of your Camper, and that you are solely responsible for ensuring that your Camper consumes ingredients that are safe for your Camper. We do not operate an emergency service and we will be unable to provide notice or assistance should an emergency or hazard arise. You assume all of the risks associated with your Camper’s activities including any damage to property, and any physical injuries resulting from burns, cuts, eye irritations, choking, allergic reactions, or slips and falls. You acknowledge and understand that the description of risks listed here is not complete, and that participating in any cooking activity may be dangerous and include other risks.

4.              Outdoor Activity. Afternoons are for physical activity, and we offer various afternoon programs customized to Camper preference! While we use reasonable endeavors to create physical activity programs that are suitable for the age groups stated on our website, we are ultimately not responsible for ensuring Campers’ safety while they are engaged in physical activity, nor are not responsible for any physical injuries or property damage that may occur during Camp Curious sessions. We have limited ability to monitor activity through the Camp Curious App, and our virtual model prevents us from providing any hands on assistance or instructions. You are responsible for supervising all physical activity during Camp Curious sessions. You assume all of the risks associated with your Camper’s activities including any damage to property, and any physical injuries resulting scrapes, collisions, limited access to and/or delay of medical attention, or the negligence of others. You acknowledge and understand that the description of risks listed here is not complete, and that participating in any physical activity may be dangerous and include other risks.

5.              Release. Disclaimer and Release. You acknowledge and agree that Curious cannot and does not guarantee the health and safety of any Camper. Parents are solely responsible for ensuring the safety of their children. You release us and our directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any and all claims related to your Camper’s participation in any camp activities offered by use, including, but not limited to, any personal injury and/or property damage incurred during such activities.  If you are a California resident, you hereby waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which states “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”

6.              Miscellaneous.

6.1           Camp Curious App. To access Camp Curious sessions, you must install the Camp Curious App or access it on a computer via a web browser at camp.curious.com/app.  In order to use the Camp Curious App, you will need to enter your Camp Curious Ticket ID provided to you. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Curious grants you a limited non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install and use a copy of the Camp Curious App on a mobile device, platform or computer that you own or control and to run such copy of the Camp Curious App solely for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Furthermore, with respect to any application accessed through or downloaded from the Apple App Store (an “Apple App Store Sourced Application”), you will only use the App Store Sourced Application (a) on an Apple-branded product that runs the iOS (Apple’s proprietary operating system) and (b) as permitted by the “Usage Rules” set forth in the Apple App Store Terms of Service. Furthermore, with respect to any App accessed through or downloaded from Google Play (a “Google Play Sourced Application”), you may have additional license rights and/or restrictions with respect to use of the Camp Curious App.

6.2           App Store. You acknowledge and agree that the availability of the Camp Curious App is dependent on the third party from whom you received the application license, e.g., the Apple App Store, or Google Play (the “App Store”).  You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Curious and not with the App Store.  Curious, not the App Store, is solely responsible for the Camp Curious App, the content within the application, maintenance, support services, and warranty therefor, and addressing any claims relating thereto (e.g., product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property infringement).  In order to use the Camp Curious App, you must have access to a wireless network, and you agree to pay all fees associated with such access.  You also agree to pay all fees (if any) charged by the App Store in connection with the Camp Curious App.  You agree to comply with, and your license to use the Camp Curious App is conditioned upon your compliance with all terms of agreement imposed by the applicable App Store when using the Camp Curious App. You acknowledge that the App Store (and its subsidiaries) are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and will have the right to enforce it.
